We are called to glory God in EVERYTHING that we do (1 Cor 10:31).  So, we strive for excellence, but we need your help to get there!  Below are all the areas you can serve bef Sunday Morning Gathering.  If you are looking for other ways to serve as well (Life Groups, Women's Ministry, Men's Ministry, Student Ministry, etc.) please click here.  If you are interested in serving in any area, click the link in the appropriate section, fill out the form, pick the area you would like more info about in the drop down, and click submit.  We can't wait to serve beside you!

  • Preschool Team

    Come and be a part of an exciting ministry where we introduce little minds and hearts to Jesus Christ and His message of Love!  In the preschool ministry you will be part of a team teaching our youngest and most energetic members about God's love using prepared lessons, crafts, games, and songs.

     

    Welcome Table/Greeter — meet and welcome families; lead children to their classrooms; arrive at 10:10 a.m. and finish up at 10:45 a.m.


    Nursery (0-23 months) — once-a-month commitment; arrive by 9:30 a.m. to set up the room.  At 10:15 a.m. be ready to hold, rock, and love our babies; provide a safe comfortable atmosphere; tear down after service returning the room to normal.


    Pre-School (2-5 years) — once-a-month commitment; 

    Teacher — arrive at 9:30 a.m. to set up the room and prepare for class; teach and play with the children in order to convey a simple Bible story; break down after service returning the room to normal.


    Helper — arrive at 9:45 a.m. if needed to help teacher prepare for class; help facilitate the classroom setting; eliminate distractions so that other children may continue learning;  help the teacher whenever needed.  Break down after service returning the room to normal.


    Substitute Teachers/Helpers — Can be called upon at the last minute to fill in the gap when a teacher or helper is unexpectedly absent.

  • Kids Team

    Are you up for excitement and the challenges of helping children take their next step in knowing God and making Him known? Are you passionate about helping children discover they matter to God? (Or maybe you're just a kid at heart - and you know you'll have fun in our amazing Children's Ministry, too!)

     

    First Time Guest Check-in Table or Ministry Area Registration/Greeter —meet and welcome families; check in children and lead them to their classrooms; make parents feel as comfortable as possible leaving their kids with us; arrive at 10:10  a.m. and finish up at 10:45 a.m.a


    Kiosk/Check-In — assist with computer check-in system, including set up and breakdown of computers.  Arrive at 9 a.m. for set up and 10 a.m. for checking in.  Finish up at 10:45 a.m.


    Lesson Small Group Leader — lead follow-up activities for the weeks main bible point.  Arrive at 9:30 a.m.


    Lesson Small Group Assistant — help facilitate the classroom setting; eliminate distractions so that other children may continue learning; and help the leader whenever needed.  Arrive at 9:30 a.m.


    Set Up/Tear Down — help create an environment fit only for the imagination of a child; arrive by 8:30 a.m. to help set up the area for whatever theme the children are going through (camping, space, adventure) and then tear down after service returning the area to its normal state.


    Audio/Video — work simple computer lesson & song DVD’s and graphics to enhance the child's experience and to keep their attention.  Arrive at 10 a.m.

  • Creative Arts Team

    Have a natural aptitude for music or the arts? Been looking for an outlet to release such natural inclinations? Come see the many opportunities we have for you to join with us in our constant pursuit of enhancing God's message of love in our services through music and other creative tools. 


    Vocalist — lead worship on Sunday mornings and sing at special events throughout the year. Sunday morning vocalists practice one night per week, on their scheduled week, at 7 p.m., and participate Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.


    Instrumentalist — play during Sunday morning service and at special events throughout the year. Typical Sunday morning band includes drums, auxiliary percussion, bass guitar, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and keyboard — but there is always room for other instruments if they mesh well and aren't a distraction. Sunday morning band members practice one night per week, on their scheduled week, at 7:00 p.m., and participate Sunday mornings from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.


    Equipment Operator — run lighting, video cameras, video switcher, sound system, media presentation equipment for services and events. This area requires a commitment to set up and break down all needed equipment and perform sound and video checks. Arrival time varies according to specific role.


    Drama — perform in dramas, direct actors, assist with costuming, props, and staging, write original scripts and adapt existing ones. Drama practices are scheduled when there is an upcoming drama for a weekend service. Actors must be available Sunday morning for our weekend service.

  • Fellowship Team

    Are you passionate about meeting the needs of others?  Or are you excited about helping people get connected with one another and enjoy times of fellowship?  Do you have a heart to create a loving, accepting and inviting environment? 


    This team is geared toward building the unity and relationships of our church family, making lasting first impressions and helping everyone feel welcomed and cared for. There are many opportunities to use your gifts and abilities in this area.

     

    Helping Hands — This team reaches out to those in our church who are in need.  They provide food for families during times of illness, birth of a child, funerals, etc.   May also offer cards and encouragement when needed.  May be called upon to make hospital and home visits.

     

    Social Team —  This team plans, organizes and coordinates our social events.  Our purpose is to help connect people with one another and build the unity and fellowship of the church.  

     

    Greeters — welcome attendees, hand out bulletins and assist with seating of guests. Includes parking lot attendants. Sundays from 10:00—10:45 a.m. & 11:45 a.m.—12:00 p.m.  Outdoor/indoor

     

    Set-up and Breakdown Crew — assist in setting up and breaking down our main lobby & outdoor banners. Sundays - 8:15—10:00 a.m. & 11:45—12:30 p.m. 

     

    VIP — Set up & break down VIP area on your scheduled week. Welcome first time guests, give out information about Sonlight, answer questions, and offer a first-time guest gift.  Give out new believer bibles & CD’s,  direct new believers to the next step in their journey.   Sundays - 10:00 a.m. —10:30 a.m. & 11:45 a.m.—12:30 p.m.
